our story
we love BBQing and we believe in sustainable products!
MiniDrum started from humble beginnings; we designed and built small batches of barbecues using hand tools and sold them online to gauge the market. As Design Engineers we love the satisfaction of creating a good product that people love. We went through many design iterations to optimise the user experience, its minimalist look and ease of manufacture. MiniDrumBBQ is covered by UK registered design rights.

All too often metal oil drums are manufactured, used once and then landfilled. Some of the larger 205 litre drums can be recycled but the infrastructure doesn’t exist for the smaller 60 litre barrels. At MiniDrum we give these used oil drums a new lease of life as an environmentally friendly BBQ for people to use for years to come. We even ship them in reused cardboard boxes 🙂

The curved shape and pressed ribs of the oil drum provide high strength and rigidity while using only 0.6mm steel. This is how we can keep our weight under 3kg without skimping on quality, making MiniDrum portable, lightweight and strong. Minidrum is also finished with a durable high temperature resistant paint to protect against rust.
The carry handle is carefully positioned on the vertical centre-line of the product which means Minidrum will stay balanced while you’re carrying it, even if you transport it while there is food slow-cooking away inside!
